The most demanded type of exchanger is the shell and tube, which is the workhorse of many industrial sectors from petrochemical to thermosolar. We have extensive experience in the management of multiphase flows (with a phase change), equipment with extended surfaces (finned) and laminar flows (requiring optimization techniques and increasing convective rates).

In recent years the thermosolar sector has gained strength, and we have experience in the design of steam generation systems for thermal oil-water (parabolic solar field) or molten salts-water (heliostats solar field to tower) configurations. We have also designed thermal oil-molten salt exchange trains used in thermal storage systems (TES).

Within this type of shell and tube exchangers, we can highlight designs such as: feed water preheaters (FWH), surface condensers, falling film evaporators, thermosiphon evaporators, bayonet evaporators, reflux condensers, etc ...

We usually work as independent consultants in EPC contracts to evaluate designs offered by manufacturers, most of the time biased technologically and far from optimal.

In addition to shell and tube exchangers, and due to the increasingly severe restrictions on the use of cooling water, we are increasingly designing air-cooled equipment with fluid to be cooled / condensed inside tubes and ambient air in crossflow (induced or forced) from the outside, usually through extended surfaces (fins of various types).

Finally, we design direct fired heaters (boilers and furnaces), of the cylindrical or cabin type according to API 560.
